National Umpire Seminar 22-23.4.2017
Due to many inquiries, we plan to host another national umpire seminar. Even if you are not aiming to become a certified umpire, this weekend course will give you tools to better umpire in eg. Center Cups and will make you a better skipper/crew by giving you insight on the rules and umpiring
Time: Saturday 22 April 10-17, Sunday 23 April 9-16 (approx. times)

Requirements: No previous umpiring experience needed, but participants should know part 2 of the Racing Rules of Sailing (when boats meet), appendix C (match racing rules) and have some experience of sail racing.
Language: default language is English, but clarifications can be made in both Finnish and Swedish.

Price: 75 €, includes teaching, materials, test and snack/coffee/etc
On Sunday you have the opportunity to take the written test, which you need to pass in order to arrange for an on-the-water-assessment. Once you pass these two you can apply for the national umpire status.
The course will be organised, if at least 8 people have registered by April 8th.
(A 50 euro subsidy to NJK Sailing Center members, who participate in the course, pass the written exam and commit to come an umpire in at least two events during this coming season, are thinking of doing the on the water assessment at some point and after getting their four events, apply for the NU status!)
